KPS - Arram Family Tutoring Center
The Hanny Arram Center for Success will be open for students in grades 3-12 to receive tutoring support on a regular basis.
What days is the Tutoring Program?
Tuesdays and Thursdays
Students will attend both days. See the attendance policy below.

Is Transportation available?
Transportation is not available at this time.
Who are the Tutors?
The University of Nebraska at Kearney Teacher Academy students will serve as tutors.
Waiting List
Students and families will complete the online application to be placed in the program with a tutor. Once a tutor is matched with the student, you will be contacted by the Hanny Arram Center for Success principal.
How many students are in each tutoring group?
Each tutor may work with up to 3 students per session. Students will be placed with grade level (or as close as possible) peer students.
Schoolwork Requirement
Students will be expected to bring work with them to the tutoring session. If the student does not have school work to complete they will not be allowed to stay for the session.
Attendance Policy
- Students who cannot attend a tutoring session will be expected to communicate with Jason Owens, Principal of the Hanny Arram Center for Success, before their expected absence at [email protected] or 308-698-8111.
- All students will be allowed one “no-call/no-show” and parents will be notified.
- A second “no-call/no-show” will result in the student being removed from the tutoring program.
- Students must be picked up by a parent or guardian no later than 5:05 daily.
- Students must be at the program by 4:00 pm.
- Students who arrive late or leave late may be removed from the program if they have three late arrivals or departures.
Behavioral Expectations
Students who are enrolled in the tutoring program will be expected to be on time, ready to work, and actively engaged in their learning time with their tutor. Students who are late or off task will be asked to leave for the given day and parents will be notified. The second event of tardiness or misbehavior will result in the student being suspended from the program for 3 days. The third event of tardiness or misbehavior will result in the student being removed from the program.
Food/Drink/Gum:
The tutoring time is very short each day, so the goal of participation in the program is for tutors and their students to begin homework help/tutoring and support quickly upon arrival. If a student must have a snack or drink, they will be directed to the appropriate area for the consumption of those snacks. Gum is not allowed.
Dress Code:
All participants must follow the regularly established KPS dress code as outlined in the student handbooks. No exceptions will be made.
Cell Phones/Electronics:
All students attending the Arram Family Tutoring Center will check in and turn in their belongings to be stored until the end of their session. Students will receive the most out of their tutoring sessions with fewer distractions.
