Kearney is one of the fastest growing communities in Nebraska. Located in south-central part of the state, Kearney has developed as regional center in many capacities.
With a population of 34,000 people, Kearney prides itself in maintaining a small town atmosphere with big city opportunities. The University of Nebraska at Kearney, the Museum of Nebraska Art, the Great Platte River Road Archway Monument and our growing medical community are just a few of our points of pride. KEARNEY is the recipient of the 2020 Insurify Top STEM City in Nebraska Award.
Award winners were selected for their stellar track record in supporting science, technology, engineering, and math, through both education and employment. Insurify analyzed communities in each state for the strength of STEM within their schools and workforces; as well as to the rate of diversity in STEM professionals. The top cities were identified through a proprietary scoring algorithm incorporating data from Insurify, an insurance comparison platform, and Niche.
