Whether you are involved in our award-winning activity organizations or participating in Community Activities; clubs and extracurricular activities instill great values like teamwork, responsibility, and a sense of community. Activities have also been proven to boost school attendance, academic success, and aspirations for continuing education past high school.  (http://parents.nea.org/)

There are over 35 activities available at Kearney High School where students can explore their interests, get involved in their school, and have fun learning.  In our middle schools, students have the opportunity to participate in activities in school with Explore classes.  Explore classes may include anything from ping pong, genealogy, or photography to recycling, sewing, and computer.  At Sunrise students can also participate in the Ukulele Club.  At the elementary level, we encourage students to engage in activities through KCLC or Community Activities.  Community Activities include events from the YMCA, Kearney Park & Rec, UNK, PAWS University, Archway Monument, Rowe Sanctuary, the Children's Museum, and so many more.  KCLC is our afterschool program that offers homework help and a host of exciting activities like learning languages, doing science experiments, robotics, and more.
