KHS to Increase Attendance to 75% For District Basketball

Kearney High School to Increase Attendance to 75% For District Basketball

With the new Directed Health Measures (DHM), Kearney High School will increase the number of attendees at games to 75% capacity in the main gymnasium.   The first 2,265 people through the gate will be allowed entrance.   Previously, only six spots per athlete were allowed.

Some safety measures will remain in place.   KHS will conduct temperature checks at the entrance, attendees must wear face masks, and social distancing is required as much as possible. Guest schools will be required to follow the same protocols.

“Kearney High School has the greatest fans in the state,” expressed Ryan Hogue, KHS Activities Director/Assistant Principal. “We are excited to allow more parents, more students, and more fans into our amazing facility to cheer on our incredible student-athletes. Go Bearcats!”

These adjustments are only applicable to the upcoming district basketball games.  Additional announcements will be developed and communicated regarding the spring outdoor activities as well as events held in the Kearney High School Concert Hall and Theatre.

KHS will implement the new protocols at the next KHS game on Tuesday, February 23 at 6:00 PM, when the KHS Girls Basketball Team plays Norfolk.
