Ways to Support

OVERVIEW
This diverse Small Learning Community prepares learners for careers in planning, implementation, production, management, processing and/or marketing of agriculture commodities and services. Are you an individual that likes innovation and working in an ever-changing environment? Do you like working outdoors and with your hands? Do you possess strong initiative and work ethic, problem solving skills, strong science and math skills, interpersonal skills, and an interest in production? Do you like working with animals, researching new products, growing food, or working on production machinery? If any of these characteristics sound like you, then the Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources SLC may be the right fit for you. 

PROGRAMS OF STUDY
The following programs of study are offered through the AFNR Small Learning Community

  • Agribusiness Systems
  • Animal Systems
  • Natural Resource Systems
  • Plant Systems

ORGANIZATIONS
Students that participate in the AFNR SLC will have an opportunity to get involved with the Career Student Organization FFA. 

WORKPLACE EXPERIENCES
Students enrolled in the Ag, Food, and Natural Resources SLC will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of  hands-on experiences. These include specialized job shadows, internships and more specifially supervised ag experiences.
