Use the link below to sign up for a home visit with your child's teacher.  The purpose of our visit is to get to know you and your child so we can best understand the student's needs, interests, and concerns.  We want to get to know you so we can partner in giving your child the best education possible.

Bright Futures has an energetic preschool environment to engage students in learning and encourage creativity. Our highly qualified teachers address each child's unique personality (physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language) through meaningful, hands-on interaction. Bright Futures is a family-oriented preschool with resources to serve the entire family. We believe everyone deserves a bright future!


All classes in session Monday through Friday.
Full day classes are from 8:30 am to 3:15.
Morning class is from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.

Kearney Public Schools invites students from eligible families to apply for a grant-supported preschool program. The program runs from August to May. Eligibility considerations:

  • Low-income status

  • Students who are English Language Learners

  • Students of Premature birth or Low birth weight

  • Students of Teen Parents

  • Other risk factors

  • Appropriate Age (must be 3 OR 4 years old on or before July 31st)

*Applicants must provide family income information and a copy of the certified birth certificate. Children must be up-to-date on immunizations.

Program Information

  • The program runs 5 days a week (Monday-Friday)

  • The program serves primarily 4-year-olds and will accept some 3-year-olds
  • Students may be selected for the all-day program based on higher needs

  • Transportation is the responsibility of the parents

  • Applicants must either provide family income information or qualify for free/reduced meals

  • Tuition is based on a sliding scale calculated from income if the student does not qualify for free/reduced meals
  • Tuition payments will be due to Kearney Public Schools by the 5th of every month
  • Tuition checks for Bright Futures should be made payable to Kearney Public Schools (KPS)
  • Meal payments must be made payable to Bearcat Diner
