KPS Cares is dedicated to supporting Kearney Public Schools students who are facing serious illnesses or severe injuries. When a student's family chooses to ask for support from our school community, this page provides a venue for help.
Families may share a CaringBridge page where our community can follow their journey and offer encouragement, or a GoFundMe account where individuals can provide financial support.
KPS Cares is about what Bearcats do best—coming together, lifting one another up, and showing our students and families that they are never alone.

💙💛 Bearcats, let’s rally around one of our own.
Sara Arevelo, a Kearney High School sophomore, is currently in intensive care fighting a severe bacterial infection. Sara was Life Flighted from Kearney to Omaha, where she continues to receive critical care.
Her family is facing an incredibly difficult journey, and our Bearcat community has an opportunity to show them they are not alone.
