Mr. Chance Waggoner has been selected as the Park Elementary principal beginning in the 2019-2020 school year. Mr. Waggoner has been a teacher at Buffalo Hills Elementary since 2012.

“Mr. Waggoner has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills at Buffalo Hills and throughout our district on various committees,” stated KPS Superintendent, Kent Edwards. “He has an excellent understanding of managing a school, connecting with students, and creating a positive rapport with parents.”

Waggoner has served as interim principal at Buffalo Hills, Grade Level Coordinator for 4th Grade, MTSS Leadership Team, District Math Curriculum Team, Crisis Prevention & Intervention Team, Student Assistance Team, as well as many others. To improve positive classroom environment and to support students social-emotional learning, Waggoner has implemented strategies from Love & Logic, Positive Behavior Intervention Systems, and Quantum Learning.

“Park is an excellent school and I am looking forward to getting to know all of the staff and families. I believe collaboration at all levels is important to the success of our students, so one of my first goals will be to create positive relationships and a strong educational bond between school and home. I am looking forward to working alongside the amazing people at Park and gearing up for a successful year!”

Waggoner earned his BA in Elementary Education (2011) and his Masters of Education Administration (2016) from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He replaces retiring principal, Katie Mathews.
