Jennifer Cady has been selected as Kearney High School Assistant Principal starting in the 2019-2020 school year.  Cady has been an assistant principal at the Lake Havasu Unified School District in Arizona since 2018.

 “Jennifer will be a great addition to our leadership team. She brings a set of talents and skills that are well-aligned with the goals of KPS and KHS,” stated Dr. Chris Loofe KHS Principal.   “Her expertise in curriculum and instruction will help us to better design and deliver curriculum for all of our students.  Her background in diverse school settings has prepared her to meet with the ever-changing needs of our student population. We look forward to welcoming her to the Bearcat Family.”

 Cady, who was born and raised in Nebraska and has family in the tri-city area, stated that she is Nebraska-girl at heart.

 “The opportunity to come to Kearney Public Schools and serve a community with an impeccable track record of educational excellence and heart is a blessing,” said Cady.  “I am looking forward to being a member of this team and to connect with the citizens and organizations in Kearney.”

 Cady started her career as an Instrumental Music Director at Long Beach Unified School District (2002-2005),  a Band Director at Deer Valley Unified School District (2007-2008), Band Director at Dysart Unified School District (2010-2017), and Assistant Principal at Lake Havasu Unified School District since 2018.  

 Cady received a Bachelor of Arts in Music at the University of California – Los Angeles, a Teaching Certificate at California State University – Long Beach, and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration at Arizona State University.

Her professional associations include the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the Arizona School Administrators, Sigma Alpha Iota, and others.

 Cady has three children.  Abigail (19) is finishing her freshman year at Northern Arizona University.  Her son, Christian (14), will be attending Kearney High School and Ryder (10) will be going into 5th grade.

 Cady replaces Melissa Herrmann who will be the new KPS Director of 6-12 Education starting in the 2019-2020 school year.
