Meet Mrs. Bird!

Hello Students & Families!

 

I'm Mrs. Morgan Bird and I'm so excited to meet you all! This is my second year with Kearney Public Schools. I serve as the School Social Worker at Bright Futures Preschool, Buffalo Hills Elementary, and Glenwood Elementary. 

 

My goal as a school social worker is to assist in meeting students' social-emotional and basic needs to equip them to be successful in school. I like to think of my role as bridging the gap between school and home, ensuring that we are on the same page in meeting every child's unique needs. With a background in mental health and trauma, I'm able to provide individual and group work with students of all ages. I often assist students experiencing anxiety, exposure to traumatic events, loss, divorce, and additional social-emotional struggles. I'm here to help you and your student have a positive educational experience!

 

When I'm not at school, I enjoy kayaking, reading, and finding adventures with my husband, Brian, and our extended families!
