Hollman is Developing Tech Skills in KPS Middle Schools

Through the Hollman Youth Development Partnership with KPS, thousands of dollars in electronics kits and high-tech shop equipment were donated to Horizon and Sunrise Middle Schools.

That partnership was created after Hollman Media was awarded a $120,000 grant in September from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development as part of the Nebraska Developing Youth Talent Initiative, which encourages innovative partnerships between businesses and public schools to enhance student interest in information technology and manufacturing.

In addition to providing equipment needs to the public school system, the partnership allows company employees to work with students in the classroom and with the teachers who plan and shape technology-based curriculum. Hollman is co-owner of Hollman Media and a professor of Information Networking and Telecommunications at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
