Kearney Public Schools is changing the way we distribute non-school information to students!

At Kearney Public Schools we value our relationship with every community organization and are constantly amazed and gratified by the way our community reaches out to our youth. However, the number of advertising flyers distributed to our students each week is dramatically increasing and taking valuable classroom time and district resources.

In an effort to  “Save the Trees” and still get your information to students,KPS will be posting flyers on our web-site in our “Save the Trees Activities Folder”! There will be one copy of the flyer at each building which will be available for viewing by students or parents who do not have web access.  In addition, we will be reminding parents and students weekly to visit the Activities Folder.

Our top priority is saving instructional time, but this new method will also save in several other areas as well. It will save organizations time in preparing the flyers for distribution and money in printing them for each student. And of course, less paper means saving trees. If you have any questions regarding this new policy please contact Tori Stofferson, 698-8028, or Deb Baumgartner, 698-8000.
